Hand-Scripted Invitations

JC's sister, Jenny (who I guess I should call my sister-in-law now, yay!) was in town visiting us from DC back in March 2015. We were talking about her upcoming wedding in June 2015 and she was showing me some stuff on Pinterest that she was considering for the direction of her invitations. She was having trouble pinpointing exactly what she wanted. Although she loved the calligraphy work of some of the invites, she couldn't find the exact design or look that she envisioned. Over lunch one day, I got out my watercolors and started just drawing their names. I also had a floral Studio Calico stamp that I stamped and colored in with watercolors.

She ended up loving the way it turned out, asked Rick what he thought, and then asked me to script the invites for her! It was such an honor. I wrote out all of the words she requested, scanned them into the computer, and then the rest of the design was laid out to her liking.

She had a local printer in DC print them onto this gorgeous cream cardstock that had a beautiful sheen to it.

They looked like they were individually hand painted and it was such an honor to be a part of the process. They celebrated their anniversary this summer, and I sent them their card using the idea from this video. So grateful to have been a part of their big day!
