Be Brave, Fierce and Free

Love that we have a mostly positive environment in both the comments section of my videos and here.  I know you're not supposed to feed the trolls, but I just had to bring this up and for those of you who are curious (I know I would be) the comment appeared from someone on YouTube. The negative and poorly written comment is on one of my more recent brush lettering videos with Tombow markers. Ironic because it's one where I am experimenting and expanding my horizons and sharing my honest thoughts about them. Also it's one where I write a positive manifesto and give a free printable. Oh the irony. I said it way more eloquently on Instagram

Keep creating and being uniquely you even when things are difficult ❤️️

And may you spend minimal time thinking about what negative, unhappy strangers on the internet have to say about you. Especially when they can't spell or use proper grammar. As much as I enjoy sharing ideas, adventures, and videos, at times it can be difficult to rise above the noise. Staying positive is something we as a creative community have to continually work towards. I feel lucky to be surrounded by inspiring souls. Learning to ignore one negative comment out of hundreds of positive ones is something that is necessary to stay sane, but it's not always easy. Constructive criticism is not what I'm talking about here. I'm all about learning to be better. We are all a work in progress. Let's continue to lift one another up. It's far more productive and fun.

Also, I loved this article I recently read on A Beautiful Mess by Emma Chapman about haters.

If you have any favorite uplifting and inspiring quotes - please share them in the comments below. I'm using this watercolor set from Michaels and a waterbrush that I love by Tim Holtz/Ranger.
