Scripting A Summer Manifesto
Lately it seems that for everything I do, I want to make a video out of it. It's like I want you to be there experiencing things right alongside me, and the best way to even come close to that is through video. This phase and making more videos and trying "vlogging" is something I am excited about doing more of this summer. I've been giving some thought to writing a summer manifesto, after reading about it on Ali Edwards' blog, but didn't actually put it into action until I read this quote on my Food Matters inspirational calendar.
So that's what I plan on doing more of this summer - saying yes to the things that excite me. Responding positively to the opportunities and invitations and fun stuff that comes up, but without the guilt. As I explain in the video, as a new mom I would find myself feeling guilty about everything - am I spending enough time with my son, am I spending enough time working, am I spending too much time worrying and not enjoying the moment? The list goes on. As a way to help me fully embrace the moment, especially since time just flies, and I imagine summer feels like one of the quickest seasons, I am going to let go of the guilt and do things that make me happy. You may think that I have always done this, which could be true, but it resonates with me now more than ever. There are always going to be things that I unfortunately have to turn down or say no to, but knowing that I can work on letting go of the guilt is going to be big for me. And will uplift my spirits. And I hope the quote and this video lifts your spirits too.
Watercolor set by Artist's Loft from Michaels. In the video I am wearing this thrive tee shirt, and I talk a lot about the script class taught by Kal Barteski.
Hope to continue spreading more motivation for each of your Mondays this year using this watercolor set from Michaels and a brush that says Royal 2 on it (can’t remember where it’s from, sorry!). If you have a favorite quote – snarky, silly, or simple in its’ wisdom, please share in the comments!
