Field Trip + crafting after

You may have noticed that I have been posting more videos lately on my YouTube channel. Lately some of my favorite videos to make are the ones where I take you along for an adventure and then come back to the studio to get crafty. After reading the comments in the video I posted yesterday from The Color Run, it appears that you all like this format too!

Spolier alert - here is finished layout...

Scrapbooking a race

I would love to be able to shoot more videos on a regular basis, so if you have ideas of what you would like to see (that would be somewhat easy for me to shoot), please let me know! Do you like the personal stuff, the crafty stuff, a mix of both? Thanks so much for coming along for the ride on this blog or other platforms like Instagram and YouTube!

Palm Springs House

We found the listing on airbnb, and it turned out to be absolutely perfect for our crew. We would definitely stay there again, as long as we could have the master bedroom again. The closet was HUGE and almost bigger than Jack's room at home, so it was a great place for him to sleep. Not kidding. Highlights included hanging out in the pool, the hot tub at night (even though it was 90 degrees), grilling out, good meals, Jack enjoying the pool, the house decor - which we decided was mostly Ikea, creating while on the trip and Jack enjoying seeing his reflection in the stool so much that he kissed it over and over.

The Parker Palm Springs

The last time we were at The Parker in Palm Springs was when I was 10 weeks pregnant and feeling extremely tired (and apparently looking it too, as evidenced in these photos). This time around, we left LA right after tubby time for Jack around 8:20pm, picked up Del Taco and made it in less than 2 and half hours. Though Jack slept most of the car ride, he woke right up and got a bit confused when we pulled up to the hotel. He wasn't fussy or anything so after we got to our room and figured he wouldn't go to sleep right away even though it was 11pm, we took him to the bar. Just kidding. JC and I were exhausted and Jack was full of energy pulling items out of the diaper bag. Thankfully, just before midnight, we all were able to go to sleep.

We had breakfast at Norma's - FYI, they don't have a kids menu. And though I haven't ordered anything from the kids menu for him yet, I am guessing most people like the selections because they are simple, well-priced items that their kids will eat. Well, it turns out our guy likes an egg with cheese on it, yogurt, and some fruit - and all of that can add up to a pretty penny. Basically it's the equivalent of 3 very hungry adults when we go out to eat with him. But it was good and I suppose worth it. We were only at the hotel for one night, as we moved to a rental house shared with 2 other couples for the rest of Labor Day weekend. Til next time, Parker!

Take me out to the ball game

While we were in Chicago in June, JC got us tickets to the Pirates vs. Cubs game. Although I can't say for sure, I think it was my first time to Wrigley, even though I lived in the northern suburbs for the first 15 years of my life. Upon waking, we got Jack dressed in the Pirates jersey that JC got him from Fanatics, and printed out our tickets. We had an awesome visit with friends, lunch at Crosby's Kitchen and then headed to the ballpark. Jack goes to the Cubs gameJC got us amazing tickets just 3 rows behind home plate. It was hot and sunny for a while, but Kelly and I took Jack inside and he ended up falling asleep in the Ergo for about 40 minutes. Though the Cubs won 6-3 and his certificate got a bit wrinkled in the luggage, we all had a blast at our first game at Wrigley Field.Jack goes to the Cubs game

St. Regis Monarch Beach

St. Regis Monarch Beach | Amy TangerineLast month JC and I took our first little trip just by ourselves, without Jack. It was a quick little, less than 24 hour getaway an hour and half south to the St. Regis Monarch Beach. It was a bit of a trial to see if JC and I could actually be away from him for an evening. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves knowing Jack was in good hands with my mom and my cousins. We were slightly spoiled as we were surprised with an upgrade upon arrival, which included butler service. Besides one of the best massages I have ever had and an extremely memorable dinner at Stonehill Tavern, we also enjoyed bloody mary's by the pool (they are the best!! I just had sips, but I was very tempted to order my own), a walk down to the ocean, a tram ride back up and a delicious brunch. Whenever I see chilaquiles on the menu, I can't help but order them.St. Regis Monarch Beach | Amy TangerineSt. Regis Monarch Beach | Amy TangerineSt. Regis Monarch Beach | Amy TangerineSt. Regis Monarch Beach | Amy TangerineSt. Regis Monarch Beach | Amy TangerineSt. Regis Monarch Beach | Amy Tangerinephoto 1St. Regis Monarch Beach | Amy TangerineSt. Regis Monarch Beach | Amy TangerineI couldn't resist getting a bit of work done by the pool, so I brought some supplies and my Instax Share. You can read more about the little printer in this post. We've already decided that while our little getaway for 2 was lovely, we will be bringing Jack next time.
