When I was in high school, we didn't really have "Home Ec". We did have electives that probably fall into that category, my favorite being a sewing class called, "Clothing". I took the class every quarter of my senior year and ended up making my own prom dress as well as a friend's. Spending time with the sewing machine at school made me happy. Nowadays while we still do clothing pieces, a lot of our sewing is done on paper, and by hand instead of machine. Here's a look at the he/she tags we made exclusively for Studio Calico.
We stamped the potty people and then hand stitched the letters. And when I say we, I mean my team of wonderful sewers who live in Los Angeles. You can still get your tags by ordering the Home Ec Add-On.
I can't get enough of those Pebbles alphabet stickers and the Hambly woodgrain paper. Speaking of "home", we just returned from a wonderful weekend trip to Washington DC. It was my first visit and am already planning for another next spring. Will be sharing photos from our trip soon. For now, here's a layout using the tags with some twine, our Goodness Thickers, camera embellishment from Hi Friend, our All Together fabric border sticker, some watercolor action and Hambly woodgrain washi tape.
