My guy had no idea when he planned to take me to the LA screening of Nice Guy Johnny, that I have had a long-time crush on Edward Burns. My favorite movie is She's The One. The Brothers McMullen is in my Top 10. So after being told that we were going to see his new movie & that he was doing a Q&A session afterward, I was super excited. Normally I don't get star struck, but after hearing him talk about his movie making process, thoughts on distribution, & ideas on success, I was even more charmed. He talked about some of the things mentioned in Paste Magazine.
One thing that resonated with me was how he encouraged the aspiring directors, writers, actors & everyone in the audience and emphasized that it's ok to redefine what you think of as success. Loved hearing that and his various anecdotes. And if you want to see a funny, feel-good romantic comedy, you're in luck. You don't even have to leave your house or your computer. Nice Guy Johnny is available on iTunes now.
This made it right into the book of delights this morning.
Even though we just picked up thai food on our way home, this goes down as one of my favorite date nights ever.
