Week in the Life + a giveaway

Decided to participate in Ali Edwards’ Week in the Life once again. I did it in 2010 for the first time and then again in 2011 – there are 2 posts from that year that inspired me to do this again as so much has changed in 2 years. Here’s the Sunday + Monday one and Tuesday’s from 2011. Last year I didn’t do a big separate thing as I was doing Project Life for the first 6 months and then the second half of the year was crazy full of travels and my grandmother being hospitalized.

This week however, will no doubt look very different than any of my weeks next year. I decided to share some of the photos on Instagram, and each day I just plan on making a collage of 9 photos. Here’s what Monday 9.9 looked like:Weekinthelife_9.9

  • 6 days until my due date
  • Woke up at 6:45am without an alarm
  • Made coffee and had JC move the car for street cleaning
  • He drove Courtney’s car into work
  • Ismael and the guys came over around 8:20am to work on putting the posts up for the fence
  • I had a green smoothie
  • Mommy and I shared a toasted everything bagel with chive creamcheese
  • Did some work and made a vet appt for the dogs
  • Weather was finally cooler, and even overcast in the afternoon
  • Mommy and I had Taco Bell for lunch
  • The pups and I dropped her off at the airport for her 4th trip to Vegas since July
  • I learned a new trick with my gallon of ice cream (thankfully the flavor isn’t as good as I thought it would be)
  • Went to see my therapist for the first time in a couple years, she is fantastic and I feel so much better already
  • Cindy got off work early (clinical at Kaiser)
  • JC also came home early and we watched Monday Night Football
  • I made dinner – a big salad and leftovers: mac & cheese & duck
  • I took a shower and was about to go to bed when the Chargers & Texans game got interesting in the 4th quarter and ended with a winning 41 yard field goal by Houston.
  • After reading 4 pages of Bringing Up Bébé, I decided it was time to sleep.

So that wasn’t so bad for a Monday. Hope yours was great too.

Love the stickers. Something interesting that happened yesterday was when I took my son to buy clothes and supplies for school (which started today) he opened up to me about his goals and dreams for this year, his senior year. Very Cool.

  6. Monica says:

Monday … a historic restaurant in my small town burnt down! Well, only the roof… but it shut down the entire main street yesterday, and it’s still shut down today. I never went there myself, but I heard many great things about it.

These stickers are so cute! Thanks for the chance to win. The interesting thing that happened on 9.9 was the Houston Texans were not looking too good and then out of nowhere stole the game from the San Diego Chargers. Maybe not so interesting.. but still pretty good event lol

  10. Corinna says:

I love those stickers! They work so well in PL pages <3 So on 9.9…..My nephew started his first day at preschool. I cried watching him walk down the driveway with his backpack and lunch in tow as he told me he was brave like a knight. sigh, how fast time flies.

  11. Ashley Armstrong says:

This stickers are rad! My MIL passed away two weeks ago and we have been slowly going through her studio to organize and decide what to donate. Seeing all of the things she has acquired and saved for all her projects was so neat. I was oddly inspired by just sitting in her studio.

  12. Sarah Bailey says:

A wonderful thing happened on Monday 9-9-2013, my sweet little 4 month Havenese recovered from a tummy bug that kept us both up the night before. Today on 9-10, she has happy and all smiles. Such a great thing – my furbaby is healthy again!

  13. monica coffman says:

  14. Jen V. says:

My husband’s aunt and uncle stopped in for a visit on their way back to Florida. We only see them about once a year. So I made lasagna and we had a nice dinner and visit with them.

  15. abbeyviolet says:

My son had a homework assignment to craft a plastic spoon into a “community helper” he chose to decorate his as a policeman. We went through my crafting stash and he cut out all the pieces, glued them, added some washi tape and sequin stars, drew a face and it was so awesome that he had to make a second one for Grandma “because she likes art” (she does). It was awesome to see my 1st grader who is usually so into video games sharing something I love.

  16. Mariko Brown says:

I saw my husband under the blanket in the morning for the first time in a few weeks. It’s been unbelievably hot & humid in San Diego, but I guess the season is finally changing. Amy, I am really excited for you, JC, and your mom for the new baby. The first thing I do when I open the Instagram app is to look for your big news :) Hang in there!

  17. Stephanie says:

Love your Monday recap!! My kids both had over an hour of rest/quiet time for the first time in weeks and it was a much needed mommy break!! :)

Yesterday (Monday) was our official last day of summer vaca before my daughter started preschool, so we deliberately chilled out at home, and went to the park around 5:30pm when it was less crowded, and had a picnic dinner. A perfect “last day”.

  20. Niina says:

A friend revealed that she had a birthday present for me that she got 10 months ago! And I have to wait two more weeks til my birthday to find out what it is ^-^ What a friend, right?

Brought my son to his doctor, waited 1 and 1/2 hours in a very hot room only to find out she wasn’t in, they didn’t get his lab report and the nurse practitioner knew nothing about his case! We left…walked out. Thank goodness the doctor called me later in the evening to discuss what we will do next. It was a crazy day!

  29. Joanne says:

Hmm… My husband’s friend came over. I let them chat while I went to my craft room and was in my PJ’s. I went out and told them, “I want pie!” They both looked at each other and said “Let’s go!” We went to Nation’s. They got a whole banana creme pie. I got a slice of lemon meringue!

Monday was Grandparent’s Day at our grandaughter’s daycare. She walked around and told everyone she loved her mamaw and papaw and her papaw was funny!! Love that kid!!

  34. Robin Gibson says:

Not sure how ‘interesting’ this is, lol. But we were on a 17 mile bike ride (old Rail-to-Trail), and the ‘boys’ decided to have a ‘coasting competition’. As they passed us, I wanted to snap a picture, as they were both standing up on their bikes, with backpacks on, they just looked like little boys, lol (in men’s bodies)! But, I was too lazy to stop, so I tried to snap the picture while I was riding, :D And as I put a brake on to slow…camera in one hand, other hand on the brake, it was the wrong brake, (the front one!), and I literally about did a head-over-the-handlebars-faceplant-into-the-gravel, which caused my friend Beth to scream bloody murder. Did the boys notice? Why, Heck no, lol. They were having a competition!!! *(silly!)* Thankfully, I was fine. I was NOT dropping my camera. I was worried about my own safety, after that of my camera, lol. Some people just don’t get it… he he.

      • Robin Gibson says:

Oh WOW! I would NOT have wanted to do that on that bridge! And I’ve only seen pictures of it, lol! Glad you lived to tell about it!

    aloha

  36. Kayla F. says:

  37. Janay says:

An interesting thing that happened on Monday was my 14 yr old son came and asked me to help him get a job =) When I asked him why he wanted a job he said that he “needed” to have his own money =) I love that he came to this decision all on his own!

Thanks for the chance to win!! =)

  38. Linda says:

  39. Lesley says:

  86. Monica says:

I loved Bringing Up Bebe! I read it when my baby was eight but it was very interesting and made me realize that it was the way my mother, a child of European parents, had raised my brother and I. I had followed lots of the same guidelines myself since it was what I knew. I really liked the concept that patience has to be taught and it is a parents responsibility to teach it. The read confirmed for me that I had made the right choices when she was at a younger age. That and her current behavior.
Oh, for the drawing: the most interesting part of Monday was getting very sick (after 3 weeks of discomfort) and finally reaching a decision to go gluten free to see if it would help.

  87. Laura A in OR says:
