basketball diaries

It looks like I’ve got my big basketball and he has his little one.I asked my mom to snap some photos in her backyard last week and naturally the doggies had to get in on the action. Week 34/35 bump (and life) update:

  • Everyday for 2 weeks now the little guy has had hiccups. Sometimes it happens even 2-3 times a day.
  • I have been waking up once or twice in the middle of the night with a cough and the need to pee. A couple days ago I slept all the way through the night!
  • Thank goodness for Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches from Costco. Some days it’s one for baby, one for me. And some days I feel just like an actual skinny cow.
  • Still having a smoothie every day – at least on the weekdays.
  • Without a cup of coffee or tea (yes, my doctor says a cup a day is fine) in the mornings, I get super sleepy around 4pm and need to lay down. Which is why I try and have some small amount of caffeine if the naps can’t be scheduled.
  • We have been sleeping in the new house! This is big. And so is our bed. We got a California King and had no idea how difficult it would be to find the necessary accessories. We got a Stearns & Foster mattress (we like it firm) and are absolutely loving the sleep we are getting.
  • Not sure how much bigger my feet have gotten but I tried to wear my running shoes just for more support one day and they were very snug. Oy.
  • I’m rather embarrassed, but I was going through a closet I still had clothes in at the house we rented for my mom (I lived there 5 years ago) and found clothes I packed with me from Atlanta that I had never worn. People, I moved from the ATL in October 2003. Almost 10 years ago!
  • Needless to say, now I am definitely only bringing things I LOVE into the new house. Going to keep this piece of advice in mind – “Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.”
  • Which is making shopping for items slightly more difficult. I am being picky, JC is being picky. There’s a lot of searching and scouring at the flea market, furniture stores and online, but we are enjoying every bit (well, most) of the process.

My husband is really tall so we have to have a CA King. Bed Bath and Beyond usually has sheet sets in store and they have more online. Here’s a link to our favorite one:
They have lots of colors to choose from.
They also have lots of comforter sets. They usually come with a set of sheets so I just use those when I’m washing the others.
Good Luck, and you’ll love your choice of a bigger bed!

We bought the California King when Lucy was little to give more space for snuggles, needless to say she is 7 now and still in the middle LOL.

I am the exact same with clothes, I go through mine and give away clothes that have tags on them from years ago, I have also just had a HUGE purge of scrappy supplies and I am being very picky with what i buy now, I hate the thought of all that waste over the years. I would rather put that money to a good trip.

hugs girl, you are looking awesome :)

You look great and ALL baby- that’s a good thing. I carried both my boys exactly the same; little busy kicking , hiccuping baby boys-they are now 16 and 18. Don’t worry about feet, it’s just some fluid retention and will go away pretty soon after your bundle of joy is here .
    Good luck!

I’ve been in my first home for 2 1/2 years and I’m still looking for the “perfect” paint for my bedroom. A friend gave me excellent advise; she said to live in the house a while to get to know it, where the light hits, how you really use the space, etc.. before making any big purchases or big decisions. Take all the time you need and want, and enjoy the process.

P.S. you look adorable and I’m getting excited for you!

Cute pictures, Amy. I work for Skinny Cow, they really are divine. My favorites right now are snickerdoodle sandwich and cherry chocolate cone. I got my guy hooked too. Congrats on the new house!
